How this site makes money
Right now, it doesn't. There are no ads, no sponsored posts, and no affiliate links anywhere on sex.money yet.
In the future, the plan is to earn money through affiliate links: links to products where, if you buy through the link, I get a commission. That won't cost you anything extra, and it never changes what I recommend.
Affiliate disclosure
When a page has affiliate links, it will say so at the top of that page, in plain language, before any link: "I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post." Each recommended product will come with a plain reason for the pick. If a page doesn't have that line at the top, it has no affiliate links.
No sponsor copy, ever. Nobody pays to be written about or to change what an article says.
Not advice
Everything here is general education. It is not tax, credit, legal, or investment advice, and it isn't tailored to you. For decisions about your own taxes, debt, or money, talk to a qualified professional.
In practice, that means we explain how things generally work and link to the official source, for example the IRS for tax rules. We don't tell you what to deduct, what you'll owe, which bank to use, or whether to stay in a relationship.
Editorial standards
- Sourced or cut. Every factual claim links to a source we actually opened and read, preferably a primary or official one (government agencies, the provider's own published terms, established nonprofits). If we can't source a claim, it doesn't run.
- No invented numbers. No made-up statistics, averages, or dollar figures. Where an example needs numbers, it's labeled as an illustration.
- Tax numbers live at the IRS. We don't quote tax rates, thresholds, or deduction amounts in our own copy. We link to the IRS page that has the current figures.
- No guarantees. We never promise savings or outcomes.
- Non-explicit. We write about money, not sex acts.
- No sides. In relationship pieces we give both people words and options. We don't tell anyone to stay or leave.
- Safety first. Where money problems may be a safety issue, we link to established help such as the National Domestic Violence Hotline.
- Dated and correctable. Each article shows when it was last updated. Official rules change; if something is out of date or wrong, we'll fix it and update the date. A contact address for corrections will be posted when the site has one.
